Before we get started looking at this important topic, just take a minute to notice what your mind is saying to you about the idea of self-compassion.
A lot of people have quite strong negative responses when this subject is mentioned. If this is happening for you, this would be a good time to practice the notice & name strategy, for example "My mind is telling me that this is a load of airy fairy, new age twaddle". Or if your mind is saying "Now, this is interesting!" you can notice & name that too.
