Final Push In The Heat Sees Eskmuthe Finish 15th In The World

The final day of SkiffieWorlds 2025 brought blistering heat, fierce competition, and two more powerful performances from Eskmuthe Rowing Club to round off an unforgettable week in Stranraer.

With the sun beating down on Loch Ryan, it was the turn of Eskmuthe’s Men's and Women's Open crews – the most competitive categories at the World Championships, where clubs traditionally field their fastest, strongest rowers.

In the Open Women’s event, Eskmuthe stormed through their heat in a time of 13:20.4, securing a place in the final and going on to finish 6th in the world with a strong final time of 13:44.1. It was an outstanding result in one of the toughest races of the entire regatta.

The Open Men also impressed, delivering a heat time of 12:24.7 to qualify for their final, where they finished 13th overall in 12:44.7 – another top-tier performance that capped off a week of consistent excellence across the club.

With all racing now complete, Eskmuthe ends SkiffieWorlds 2025 15th in the world – a huge jump from 23rd place at the last World Championships in 2022 and a reflection of the club’s growing strength, depth and ambition.

The club’s final tally includes a historic silver medal in the Under 19 Mixed, multiple top-10 finishes across different age categories, and a record number of crews reaching world finals. Across five days of competition, Eskmuthe’s rowers demonstrated grit, teamwork and passion – both on and off the water.
