An Eskmuthe crew triumphed in a long-distance, 13-boat challenge - and won an unusual prize.
As well as a bronze trophy and a bottle of whisky, the winning crew and cox of the Carrick Coastal Rowing Club Sprint Cup were each given a box of 6 free-range eggs - produced in Dumfries and Galloway.
The 5-mile challenge started at the Galloway Activity Centre beside Loch Ken. Crews were set off at 10-minute intervals, rowed south for 2.5 miles, turned under a bridge and back to the finish line.
The winning Eskmuthe crew of Kim, David, Logan and Yasmin (coxed by Gaynor) timed their row at 55 minutes and 32 seconds, over almost 8.3km.
One of the 2 Dunure boats, coxed by Eskmuthe’s George, came second. The second Eskmuthe boat - Adam W, Pete, Gaynor and George, coxed by David - was timed by the crew at 57 minutes 40 seconds.
The day before the timed challenge, two Eskmuthe crews did a 10km social row up the loch - while a group of Eskmuthers also had a dip in the loch between roasting in an on-site sauna.
Thanks very much to George and Freya, who organised the fantastic trip
